The MKVI EOD SUIT benefits from the
unparalleled knowledge and experience of the
UK MOD. The suit incorporates over 30 years of
"blast decouplment" knowledge, plus the expertise of
the UK MOD Scientists and EOD officers to provide
the most advanced "Frontal Plates" available in the
world today
The three piece telescopic plate construction
provides significant benefit to the user, however
ensuring that the plate stays in place and does not
rupture during the blast event is of critical
importance.
To ensure the system protects the EOD Officer during
an "explosive event" the testing demanded the use of
highly sophisticated test procedures so as to validate
that the chest wall acceleration did not exceed the maximum
limits specified. Both chest and head acceleration were
measured and the results proved that a highly balanced
system had been achieved for both the helmet and frontal plate.

| Unique Functions of the MKVI EOD Frontal Plate: |
S2 Glass / Aramid / Closed Cell Foam construction provides
for significantly enhanced blast and ballistic protection.
The plate can be readily removed and replaced during operations.
Unique fixings ensure that the inertia during a blast incident
does not inadvertently open fixings.
Three-piece telescopic construction provides for
significantly enhanced flexibility whilst ensuring
the plates 'blast decoupling' capability is maintained. |
Unique construction of the closed cell foam backing
ensures for long term usability and reliability.
